DANCE PARTY AND DEEP RELAXATION

After exerting energy, like a good workout let’s say, don’t you feel calmer? What if after dancing and letting go you could expand this calming state?

After Dancing and through Qigong (movement meditation) we’ll go deeper into relaxation. And will end on the ground, in stillness, to soak up all the goodness that comes from using energy and intentionally cultivating relaxation. Will leave feeling lighter, relaxed, and centered.

Why this combo…In a more practical sense-- it can be hard to meditate with the mind going 100 miles per minute, cardio exercise reduces the excess stress hormones (like cortisol, adrenaline, norepinephrine) that get triggered throughout everyday life and cardio also increases happiness (endorphins, serotonin)... DANCE is cardio, but more fun. Literally come dance stress away and feel the depths and benefits of meditation and relaxation. RESET the mind and body! If the night comes and you're like "man sounded good but like the only moving I want to do is to my couch" consider coming. We’ll start with light yoga/qigong exercises to open the body and then the music will shift into rhythms that inspire movement. Call it dance if you want too. But before you know it, it may just turn into a full on dance party.

--Begin with opening the body, meridian channels, acupressure points (via light stretching and qigong exercises),

--Let go with free movement (via ecstatic dance),

--Feel chi, life energy (via slow qigong exercises/qigong mediation),

--Ground (via laying down with breathing exercises)

QIGONG & BREATHWORK

January 26th 2-5p @ Communitas Movement

Claudia Nanino and I are combining the practices of qigong and conscious breathwork for deep connection and healing. This unique combination provides an excellent opportunity to manifest intentions for the new year and set ourselves up for living consciously and in alignment with our highest good. The journey begins with a few qigong exercises that help open and release energy blockages, followed by a specific pattern of breathing that allows you to journey deep within to free yourself of old emotions, patterns, and stories that no longer serve you.
This class is for anyone who is sincere in exploring self mastery, and all experience levels are welcome. The experience will undoubtedly deepen your connection to your intuition and inner healer.
We will share a short, optional journaling exercise to complete ahead of time, to get clear on what we are manifesting in 2019. We will close with the opportunity for sharing and journaling, while enjoying wholesome snacks. This will help integrate your experience into your every day life and manifest your best year.

EXPLORING QIGONG

February 16th 1-4p @ Lotus Meditation Studio

We will delve into variety of Qigong principles that can directly impact your every day life. The lecture is interactive and experiential so everything becomes relatable and feels assessable. Will experience a full class at

  • Learn how Qigong activates your parasympathetic nervous system to help deepen relaxation

  • See how just one energy principle can change your life; increase your vitality, physical energy, confidence, and courage while also improving and deepening your sleep

  • Understand how your physical, emotional, and spiritual health relate to one another and how to optimize balance and wellness

  • Experience the difference between thinking, being, and waiting and how this can impact your everyday life.

With a full QiGong practice at the end, you'll open your joints, meridian channels, acupressure points, and any energy blockages. This will help optimize your ability to feel Qi inside and outside of you. Experience a deep meditative state, while strengthening your intuition and ability to self-heal. Accumulate this Qi and leave feeling relaxed, centered, and a burst of energy and inspiration towards creating the life you really want.

QIGONG WORKSHOP

February 24th 2-4p @ Elevate Yoga Studio

Qigong is a movement meditation most similar to Tai-chi.  Come learn energy principles that can transform 
your everyday life.  Most of our time will be spent experiencing  the practice and  benefits of qiqong. 
Within the qigong practice  you will be encouraged to dissolve "right and wrong" by connecting to your  personal rhythm and intuitive guidance; essentially making the experience exactly what you need.
